Nike Pegasus 42 vs Pegasus 41: what changed?
Quick answer
Same shape and drop as the Pegasus 41, with a new full-length Air Zoom unit and a little more foam under the toes. It feels smoother and livelier at faster paces, and has more room in the toe box.

What's new
A full-length Air Zoom unit
The 41 had separate Air units in the heel and forefoot. The 42 joins them into one unit that runs the length of the shoe, so the bounce carries through from landing to toe-off instead of arriving in two places.
More foam under the toes
Extra toe spring makes space for about 3mm more foam under the forefoot. It's the part of the shoe you push off from, so it's where the extra liveliness comes from.
More room up front
The toe box is roomier than the 41's. If you wore the 41, keep the same size.
Should you upgrade?
Get the Pegasus 42: if you liked the 41 but wanted a bit more spring when you pick up the pace.
Get the Pegasus 41: Stick with the 41 if you find it at a good discount: it's the same shape, the same drop and the same foam.
